Inspired by the style and colors of an English Garden just beginning to bloom, this styled shoot combines layers of traditional textures with contemporary touches.
“As a wedding planner and designer, I am fortunate to have my mom as a business partner. This styled shoot was a nod to her love of classic British novels. We worked to bring vignettes from her favorite 19th century books to life, but with a distinctly modern sensibility,” says Becca Dupaix of Blondie Events.
“Nestled among the sunny windows, manicured terrace, and antique details of Heritage Gardens, we wanted to entice our guests with playful colors and effortless elegance. Spring in an English Garden, like the mountains of Utah, can be unpredictably cool, grey, and damp. We embraced the moody tones of rain clouds with dusty blue, soft ivory, and heather purple. We brought the garden indoors by adding early spring blooms like hellebore alongside barely budding branches arranged in loose, dynamic, and almost wild shapes.”
“A balance between formality and modern whimsy was applied throughout the design, from the refined place settings with their subtle leather details, to the bespoke stationery with cheerful accents, the classic tiered cake with delicate marble details, and even the reserved A-line silhouette of the bridal gown and it’s exuberant beading.”
The result was a chic, inviting and joyful styling that would warm even the cloudiest days.
