Antique Silhouettes

From the drop waists and corset tops of the Elizabethan era to the Bridgerton-inspired empire cuts and frilled bustlines, designers are breaking out tried-and-true patterns for the 2026 bride.

Pearls

Pearls have been the gem of the greats for the last several seasons of bridal couture, and based on these collections, pearl beading isn’t going anywhere. For a fresh spin in coming seasons, keep an eye out for dainty pearl drop details, oozing with art decor flair.

Bold Appliques

All-over bows, bunched rosettes and ultra-pleated blossoms: the appliques are having their moment.

Back to Backless

In homage to some of our favorite sexy bride looks, designers are going back to classic backless for the bride willing to show a bit more skin. No matter your preferred material, an open-backed gown delivers a powerful punch.

Ombre Color

2011, is that you? Dip-dyed ombre tulles were peppered throughout the typical ivory designs on the runway this year, for a fun-loving fix of color welcomed by the nontraditional bride.

DropWaist Drama

Though highlighted in our “antique silhouettes” section, these gowns deserve a moment of their own. Infusing vitage glamour with early-2000’s chic, the drop waist is back for its closeup.

Tiered Tulle

The ballgown is back, baby. Chunky layers of tulle-on-tulle donned hero gowns in several collections.
