White Party Presents: 2020 Wedding Trends

Nobody does white-hot wedding design like the Utah Wedding experts. At the annual White Party, hosted by Utah Bride and Groom magazine, Utah’s best bridal professionals bring their A-game to showcase the next trends in bridal design.

Get your Pinterest boards ready, for the 2020 wedding trends that our favorite event experts see on the horizon.

#1 Go for the Views

Whether your style is rustic, modern or classic fairytale, there’s no better way to impress every guest than with a monumental set of views. Snowpine Lodge, Alta’s newest addition, is the perfect fit. Classic mountain beauty meets chic design, and the location presents a breathtaking alpine backdrop, with mountain pine views galore. The venue offers over 30,000 square feet of flexible event space fit for any event, and across multiple areas of the lodge to keep your guests moving!

#2 Give the Groom Some Wiggle Room

We know, weddings are all about the bride. While most traditional wedding décor is focused on the feminine, we think the groom should get some say, as well. For the annual Utah Bride and Groom White Party,Men’s Wearhouse, Joseph A. Bank, and Tuxedo Junction provided a bachelor pad paradise in the form of a Groom’s Lounge. Roulette, cigars and shots: everything you need for a night with the boys. Don’t be afraid of infusing a little bit of masculine design and class into your big day – it’s a day for both of you, after all!

#3 Let the Florals Shine

Arches, garlands and bouquets galore, Fleur and Stems brought their best talent and ditched the traditional “table arrangements,” this year. Let your florals drive the design with lush garlands and cascading, asymmetrical installations for a taste of modern elegance in your décor. Teaming up with Hoopes Weddings & Events, the White Party dream team created an event packed with modern flair and rich red hues.

#4 Menus in Every Style

Steak and potatoes? So last year. Don’t let the traditional tie you down when it comes to the food. Snowpine Lodge’s catering team brought a new style to every bite: from polenta balls to Korean BBQ sliders and all the bruschetta variations in between, every nibble was a hit. Ruby Snap even married a sweet tooth with the burgundy vision in the event’s design with berry-infused cookies for dessert. There’s no rules for the menu in 2020- let your imagination run wild!

#5 Engage Your Guests

Step up your rental game and get something every guest can enjoy. Clementine Photo Booths kept our White Party guests entertained for hours with their genius slow motion video station. Pro tip: you can fit as many people in the frame as you want, if you create a Congo line! And for those who don’t want to wait in line (congo or otherwise), Clementine has a mobile Boomerang station, to capture the fun in every corner of your celebration. To send your guests off happy (and in style), commission a Retro Rentals trailer! At the White Party, they delivered desserts and gift bags to guests as they left the venue, but their trailers can also serve as mobile bars, photo booths, and more!

#6 Get Creative with Bridal Wear

Wearing white to a wedding is a classic bridal faux-pas, but what if the bride doesn’t, either? Chantel Lauren Designs had guests mesmerized all evening with their hand-painting performance art, creating a postcard-worthy sunset scene right on the back of a blushing bride.

Even if a whole tapestry isn’t your thing, colorful bridal wear is booming for 2020. And if the bride leaves ivory behind, who says the guests can’t pick it up? Our 2019 White Party guests prove that a sea of visions in white makes for a party packed with class.

#7 As Always: Hire the Experts

We may be the pros at presenting the “pretty” in weddings, but planning and executing that beauty is a realm entirely out of our league.

Tonya Hoopes and her event planning and floral teams executed the event of the year.

Hoopes Weddings and Events is all-in on creating the wedding of your dreams, from planning décor to travel arrangements. It may sound too fancy for your taste, but trust us, they are here to listen to your unique vision and bring all of your ideas to life exactly as they exist on your Pinterest boards! Not only are they the go-to for wedding logistics and design, they also have the hookups to all the other vendors. Their sister company Fleur and Stems (sound familiar) are imaginative as can be, and make every floral arrangement fabulous. Hoopes can direct you to all their favorite wedding pros.
